We are currently working with several missionaries in Haiti. They are sending us continuous updates. Here are excerpts from several of those updates:
"The needs and problems that we along with all of Haiti are facing right now are great. Personally, two of the walls surrounding our orphanage were damaged due to the earthquake. One fell down completely, and the other half-way down. However, because it is leaning so badly, it will need to be removed completely and built again, along with barbed-wire placed on top for extra safety. At least four walls in our orphanage have significant cracks in them which will need repaired. Our railing on the top story shakes a little due to cracks in the cement below it. Our septic tank appears to be cracked as water in leaking into it."

Here is a post from the missionaries' blog in late January:
"Quick update... today we searched for food. Few people have it, and those that do aren't willing to sell. However, at the end of the day we found a lady that sold us about half a bag of rice for 20 dollars The medical team we don't think was able to make it in...at least if they did, we have no contact with them
Pray for our water situation... we have leaks in our pump somewhere and our tank fills super slow...using too much gas to do so. if our gas runs out...we cant run our generator...therefore cant get water into our tank there is a place down the road from us still selling clean water. we have been buying it each day trying to save up we stopped by the embassy yesterday to register and all...but it was a mess. so many people were there just trying to leave the country. we went home because we knew we'd be there all day
also, our inverter went out..which means no electric...generator will need powered, will need fuel for that, etc. we have VERY little money right now and nowhere to get it. the place we used to cash checks is collapsed. we found one guy who would exchange money..but his rate was ridiculously low. also, boys orphanage is almost out of food...they have enough for about 2 or 3 days...
okay i think thats all for now. i want to send this while i can!"
